My name is Connor Ryan and I am a student at UNCW majoring in English with a concentration in Professional Writing and a minor and Pre-Law. I'm an aspiring lawyer and hope to go to law school within the near future.
Linked below are several documents and projects that detail the variety of skills I've obtained throughout my time in the Professional Writing program at UNCW. I have also linked a reflection detailing my thoughts on these experiences, as well as some of my documents from my classes relating to my Pre-Law minor which further showcase the skills I've gained with my time in Professional Writing. Within the professional writing projects I've linked an essay discussing film's influence on culture in North Carolina using documented research. three projects which utilize multimedia, and an essay analyzing the style of the comedian Cody Ko. The essay on film culture in North Carolina showcases my ability to use research to forward a coherent argument through various rhetorical appeals. My multimedia projects showcase my proficiency in my application of skills and concepts within mediums other than the written word. While the comedian analysis essay provides evidence of my skills in analysis, and my understanding of rhetorical appeals. The Pre-Law papers and documents further showcase my skill in interpreting information for a specific audience, as well as my skill in using rhetorical appeals to forward an argument. Lastly the reflection of my time at UNCW gives specific insight into how my experience within the Professional Writing program affected my skills as a writer.
